The Office of the Head of Service (OHOS) of Benue State serves as the apex of the State Civil Service Secretariat. Since its establishment, the Secretariat has been entrusted with leading, managing, and developing the capacity of the State Civil Service, ensuring that governance is effective and efficient.
Over the years, the office has played a pivotal role in state administration, acting as the key machinery for the implementation of government policies and programs. It has also served as the central pool for Permanent Secretaries, Administrative Officers, Executive Officers, Clerical and Secretarial Staff, as well as drivers.
Its responsibilities extend to payroll administration and ensuring that the civil service operates with discipline, integrity, and a focus on service delivery to the people of Benue State.
